Principal's Message

Dear Families of Kenwood Elementary School:

It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the principal of Kenwood Elementary. I am elated to be able to step into the role as educational leader for our elementary schools and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.

I have just over 16 years of educational experience including teaching lower and upper grades, a first/second grade split class, and hosting a student teacher, all here in Clawson. I have also gained much experience as the principal of Schalm Elementary for the last six years. I’ve learned so much about serving and leading during these years, I look forward to being able to work with you to make sure your child(ren) are getting all they need in order to be successful here at school.

Along with staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success by maintaining a strong family atmosphere, which includes close relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will focus on continuous improvement in our content areas, social emotional learning, and 21st Century skills while continuing to foster a nurturing safe environment for our students. With the use of data to help us effectively plan instruction, and implementation of instructional strategies to increase student achievement, we will provide exciting and challenging opportunities for all.

I am looking forward to a most successful year as the staff and I (with your help) support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Kenwood Elementary School. During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Kenwood the best possible foundation to help them to be successful students now and in the years to come. I will have the support of Mrs. Nicole McDonald as our assistant principal. We will work closely together to ensure success for all. Outside of school, I am a mother and wife. My husband, also a principal, and I have 5 children and spend a lot of our time, outside of school, attending/driving to sporting events or extracurricular activities that our children are a part of. We enjoy spending time together as a family exploring nature, adventuring to new places and playing family games.

As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call if you ever have any questions, concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

The first day of school is Monday, August 30th. It will be a half day with dismissal at 11:25.

In partnership,
Bianca Sines
