Dear Families of Schalm Elementary School:
It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the principal of Schalm Elementary. I am elated to be able to continue my role as educational leader for our school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child(ren)’s success.
I have just over 14 years of educational experience including teaching lower and upper grades, a first/second grade split class, and hosting a student teacher, all at Schalm.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum and Teaching along with completing a Master’s plus program in Educational Leadership all from Michigan State University (Go Green!). I am married to the most selfLESS man who I adore and share a passion for education in a role as a principal as well. (Our kids won’t be able to get away with much!!) Together, we have five children and are quite busy to say the least! We have three children that attend Clawson Middle School, “Go Mustangs” and one who attends Schalm, “Go Sharks”; and we love Clawson, “Go Trojans”!!!
I continue to learn and grow with other administrators as well as my staff as we take a professional learning journey each school year. Our focus has been on creating a culture of thinking, learning to help students make their thinking visible, and being able to support and grow students in their social and emotional needs.
Along with the Schalm staff, I am working hard to continue our legacy of success by maintaining our strong family atmosphere, which includes close relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on continuous improvement in our content areas, character education, and 21st century skills while continuing to foster a nurturing, safe environment for our students. With the use of data to help us effectively plan instruction and implementation of instructional strategies to increase student achievement, we will provide exciting and challenging opportunities for all.
I am looking forward to a most successful year as the staff and I (with your help) support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at Schalm Elementary School.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of Schalm the best possible foundation to help all be successful students now and in the years to come.
As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
Mrs. Bianca Sines
